E3’s (logo) overarching purpose is to empower economically-disadvantaged areas by kick starting economies through education and available technology. With today’s technology and our world economy the abject poverty in the world should not exist. While there will always be unequal economies and political powers in the world, now more than ever, the capability exists through cooperation to lift each other up and in the process make our shared world a better place.
While E3 does not want to push any religion for fear of creating factions and division, the organization recognizes God’s, our creator’s, higher power’s, or whatever words you choose, call to serve others as the motivating force pushing us forward. E3’s founding goal is inclusion, and that we are all equal regardless of silly labels of religion, race or background. We must help each other with love and compassion. As Mother Theresa so eloquently emphasized: “There are no great things, only small things with great love.”
The resources and technology available today have made the late-great Buckminster (Bucky) Fuller’s goal of his “World Game” a reality. According to Bucky: “Make the world work, for 100% of humanity, in the shortest possible time, through spontaneous cooperation, without ecological offense or the disadvantage of anyone.” The scarcity way of thinking of me or you must go. Instead, the abundance model of share, cooperate and thrive is how we must operate. To quote another great humanitarian of our common “human race:” “Live Simply so that others may simply live” -Mahatma Ghandi
Most important, based on existing research and reexperience, the best way to transform and move the economy forward is the empowerment of women and children. Toward that end,E3 will work for long term plans that stimulate entrepreneurship for women. Study after study reveals that women keep the money in their families and local areas so that the money better elevates their specific home base.
Our Story
Our story began in the village of Tembwe, Malawi. We have gone and lived there in the village to study and learn what can be done. The learning experience and sharing of cultures have been incredible and fulfilling. The excitement of the simple fixes that will catapult their village and economy (and others exactly like it) is overwhelming.
Education of Both Students and Teachers through Technology
Presently, we are rebuilding the Tembwe village primary school. Through use of solar energy and soon to be available satellite technology, we anticipate bringing internet access to the students and teachers in the school. So here in this remote village, children sharing one workbook (sometimes 25 kids sharing a workbook) will have the entire world opened up to them through the internet. The cost is not as much as you would believe.
Let this sink into your thought process for a moment and how much this will transform the education of these students, teachers and open up the economy. Now these children and teachers will have the same internet access that our kids and teachers in America will have. Imagine a teacher in the Village of Tembwe, Malawi being able to take a Stamford on-line college course or a student being able to learn through YouTube. The opportunities are endless.
Now, think about their economy being brought to the world instantly through internet access. Going from no connection to the world beyond the village to full exposure to the world economy. This is where we do not have to do anything except watch with awe as some smart children figure out the improvement oftheir economy and make money by bringing their village to the world economy. E3 does not want to stay there providing money, but rather provide a jump start and let their society create and elevate. Give a woman or man a fish and they eat for the day, teach a woman or man to fish and they eat for life.
Medical Care and Improvement of Health Through Education
E3 has worked with another non-profit Compassion Kind International by assisting to build and establish the first functioning health care clinic. People of the village have trouble reaching the nearest hospital in the Salima district. The clinic in Tembwe can provide medical services for the most common ailments and then for the more serious cases assist with transport to the Salima District hospital. Some of the unintended consequences of the clinic has been to spur further economic development of the immediate area of the clinic, provide salaries for the health care workers and maintenance and security personnel for the hospital. The health care workers are also providing and improving health education to the area villagers to improve their daily life with preventative measures.
Donations
Presently, 0percent of your donated money will go to salaries or administration of the founders or administration in the United States. Salaries to those on the ground to those in these economies keep the facilities going are paid but that only serves to help jumpstart the local economies. This means that 100% of your money is going to the place it should -- to help others. Big problems with charitable organizations are the layers of administration and money getting into the wrong hands in these depressed areas. Our tactic of going ourselves to these areas and making sure the money goes into the right hands is another passionate goal of E3.
Please help us to educate, elevate and empower.
